SONG 1 - INTRODUCTION In the muck I sit unassuming, unappealing, understanding How the void between the stars Is lesser than the dark within a heart. I have heard the engine of this world - With mechanisms too large for just one lilypad, Too complex for just one mind - Yet how easily they are confined within me. How obvious a plan it is; To contain the universe within a dream- My dream, and should I awake - The gears would grind, teeth chipping and spattering, Pulleys snapping as frail tendons set loose, Sending the sun, the wandering planets, all existence careening Into the darkness of a sinister rebirth. And I, alone in the gloom, Will be the new Creator.

SONG 2 - IGNORANCE How can you appreciate the scope of such transformation, From lowly creature of the swamp, addled by the temptation of survival - To a knower of all things and a keeper of all destiny? What can compare to this? A small creature emerges from primordial decay and breeds, His children multiply, survive, and continue onwards- Gaining legs, arms, the march of progress - Pain, survival, strife - Civilization. War. A thousand sons of a thousand sons, Marching indiscriminately towards a bloody mountain where Nature dwells, grabbing the soldiers, snapping their spines Like fish from the stream, slurping down their blood and brains - How it stains him. He drops each limp carcass to the side while he reaches for another. Finally, a soldier sees the piled bodies, realizes the culmination of this road- and breaks away from the path prescribed by death. How far have I come? Each day I travel millennia, Far past that bloody mountain, No limitation imposed has held me, I have learned every arbitrary combination of enlightenment and ignorance - and how those who know neither will never know bliss.

SONG 3 - PAIN I saw a beast that none has ever seen- Crouched low on spindly legs, matted with pus- Host to a thousand teeming ticks, a thousand suckling weights Greedily gulping from an empty vessel. The beast came to the water’s edge, unsteady, Uncertain of its strength - and rightly so- It tipped forwards into the water Set adrift by weakness, by generosity. Have you seen sailors on a sinking ship? How they fight their fate, how they flee, Craving every second of life, every moment of breath, As though that moment could be bargained for salvation. I was a base creature then, Set myself to the water, kicking with powerful legs, Devouring these drifting parasites, these helpless sailors, And I thought - My first thought - The spark to ignite the heavens- “All of life is the perception of pain.”

SONG 4 - SPITE Spite! No force is so grand as you, No love will breach the heavens as you have, No misery, no greed holds an edge so easily as you! Oh, sweet spite, how you have shaped this world - I have seen you there, your demon’s eyes shining in the night, As the lone warrior holds the bridge against an army, His blade striking limbs free of bodies, He butchers them without self preservation, Spurned on solely by your gaze! To rid the world of you would be my greatest regret.

Final Song 01:32
FINAL SONG - HOPE See this world as I see it, See anguished bodies clawing for scraps, see their pain, Their strife the shackles they wear the wicked lash licking their backs, A thousand faces bowed in fear, And know- Despite it all, you must know- The seeds are planted by their action. Watered with every tear, With every drop of blood shed. Unravelling in the darkness of the earth, Fertilized by the executioner’s hand. Growing stronger with every imagined and realized pain, What fruits might be grown from such a seed? What calamity has been sown? What armageddon will be harvested, and What will remain to glean? See! There, in the mists! Many years from now, when all is dust and dark, See them squabble, A hunched man, greyer than ash, a look of idiocy - Another, refined and deadly, a walking razor - See them tear at the other, Sallow hands striking, ripping, The slipping slice of a blade on flesh, They back away from their fatal waltz, Trailing red, they turn and flee, Leave the object of their aggression in the dust, Leave the apple, leave the tree - Who am I to destroy this perfect Garden?
